Double-Engine Government Coming? Amit Shah’s Big Claim on Delhi Politics!

Amit Shah on double-engine government in Delhi

New Delhi: With the Delhi Assembly elections just around the corner, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has made a bold prediction, claiming that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal will lose his seat, and that the BJP will establish a ‘double-engine’ government in the capital under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

In remarks to India Today, Amit Shah minced no words in attacking one whole decade of AAP governance. He accused the Kejriwal government of failing to develop any infrastructure in Delhi while ignoring the complete mess in water supply and instead, opting for freebies in lieu of any real progress.

Amit Shah’s Big Claim: Kejriwal’s Exit Inevitable?

In a fiery statement, Amit Shah declared:

“The lies of the last 10 years are now exposed. AAP has deprived Delhi of real development. Villages, hamlets, urban centers—none have seen true progress. But this time, under Modi Ji’s leadership, BJP will form a double-engine government in Delhi. Both Arvind Kejriwal and Abhishek will lose their seats this election.”

With polling day on February 5, Shah’s claim has added fuel to the already intense political battle for Delhi.

AAP vs BJP: The Battle Over Freebies and Development

When asked about BJP’s election manifesto, Shah took a direct swipe at AAP’s populist policies.

He assured that the BJP will not halt welfare schemes but will adopt a balanced approach that prioritizes both social benefits and infrastructure growth.

“Kejriwal has ignored Delhi’s real needs—water, schools, hospitals. AAP has only distributed money, without any real development. We will ensure that no welfare scheme is stopped, but unlike AAP, we will actually build Delhi,” said Shah.

The double-engine government, a term often used by BJP, refers to the same party ruling both at the Center and the state, ensuring faster policy implementation and development.

What’s at Stake in the 2025 Delhi Elections?

With Delhi’s electorate divided, the battle between AAP and BJP has intensified.

AAP’s focus: Free electricity, free water, and social welfare schemes.
BJP’s strategy: Highlighting infrastructure failures, governance lapses, and the need for a double-engine government.
The big question remains—Will Kejriwal hold his ground, or will BJP’s double-engine strategy steamroll AAP?

With only days to go before polling, Delhi’s voters will decide whether AAP retains its stronghold or if BJP’s bold claims turn into reality.
