The tragic case of Manav Sharma, the TCS recruitment manager who allegedly took his own life after a domestic dispute, has taken another turn. His wife, Nikita Sharma, has finally broken her silence, defending herself against the wave of allegations that have flooded social media.
“That was my past. Nothing happened after marriage. Even Manav knew about it,” Nikita said, addressing the accusations of her involvement with her ex-boyfriend. She insists that her past relationship had no bearing on her marriage and that Manav was well aware of it.
But the internet, it seems, is not buying it. With a viral video of Manav’s emotional breakdown before his death circulating online, public sentiment has been overwhelmingly against Nikita. Many are accusing her of emotional abuse and manipulation. However, she claims that Manav was not the victim people are making him out to be.
“People need to listen to my side of the story too,” she stated. “Manav used to hurt me after drinking.”
Nikita also revealed that before the tragic incident, she had informed Manav’s sister about his mental state through WhatsApp messages. According to her, she had already expressed concerns that Manav might harm himself. But rather than offering any real intervention, she alleges that his sister dismissed the concerns, reportedly saying, ‘Leave him. If someone doesn’t understand, one should leave them alone.’
While the police investigation is still ongoing, the case has sparked an intense debate about the legal protection of men in domestic disputes. The late TCS manager’s final words, “Even if I’m gone, please think about other men. They are alone,” have struck a chord across social media platforms, reigniting discussions about false allegations, mental health struggles, and legal reforms for men.
As for Nikita, she continues to assert her innocence. “I am innocent,” she claims, maintaining that she had no role in pushing Manav to take this step. Whether the law agrees with her or not remains to be seen.
For now, the case remains under scrutiny, with the public demanding answers and justice for Manav Sharma.
