Odisha Govt Alleges Missing KISS Student Records Were Erased—Who’s to Blame?

KISS Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha School and Mass Education Minister has dropped a bombshell, alleging that crucial data on missing students from Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) was “deliberately erased” with the help of the previous government. Adding to the mystery, KISS has reportedly not provided any official records on missing or rescued students.

However, a flicker of past records remains—back in 2017, the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) had documented cases of missing and rescued students from the institution. The minister’s remarks have reignited concerns over transparency, accountability, and the safety of students in one of the world’s largest residential institutions for tribal children.

With allegations flying and records seemingly vanishing into thin air, the big question remains—who is responsible for this missing data? And more importantly, what really happened to the students?
